All welcome! No previous singing experience necessary.
Come and join Hannah Gill and myself, Kate Picken where we will be learning to sing well known popular songs from a range of genres.
Choir rehearsals will take place in Kirkcudbright Parish Church Hall on Thursday evenings, from 7:45pm to 8:45pm, starting Thursday 4th September through to Thursday 27th November (13 weeks).
There will also be a final rehearsal and concert on Thursday 4th December, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm – venue to be confirmed.

Background:
Kirkcudbright Community Choir started in September 2022.
On the 8th December 2022, Kirkcudbright Community Choir, Kirkcudbright Junior Choir and 4 soloists from Kirkcudbright Academy performed in a concert at Kirkcudbright Parish Church. We were delighted to raise the amazing sum of £1,200 which was given to D & G Social Work to help support children in need at Christmas.
- On the 30th March 2023, Kirkcudbright Community Choir, Kirkcudbright Junior Choir and Kirkcudbright Academy Choir performed in a ‘Celebration of Music’ in Kirkcudbright Parish Church. We were delighted to raise £1,125 for ‘Better Lives Partnership’.
On the 7th December 2023, Kirkcudbright Community Choir, Kirkcudbright Junior Choir and 4 solo performances from students at Kirkcudbright Academy: Kacee Knox (xylophone), Charlotte Baker (piano), Inigo Lipton-Chaney (voice) and Ralph Copeman (guitar) performed in a concert at KBT Parish Church. We were delighted to raise £910 to support ‘A Listening Ear’
- On Thursday 21st March 2024: Kirkcudbright Community Choir, Kirkcudbright Junior Choir and 4 solo performances from students at Kirkcudbright Academy:Iona, Ralph, Fraser and Thomas were delighted to raise the amazing sum of £980 for Stewartry Food Bank. Thank you so much all your support!
On Thursday 5th December 2024 in Kirkcudbright Parish Church, the Community Choir, Junior Choir and 3 soloists: Eden, Evie, Isis, Alistair Arlo, Emily and Sarah along with a performance from 5 – 6th year pupils from Kirkcudbright Academy held a wonderful concert! The event raised the amazing sum of £1,200 which is going to support local children in need this Christmas through D & G Social Work.
On Thursday 27th March 2025, KBT Community Choir, KBT Junior Choir and five incredibly talented musicians from KBT Academy – Evie, Isis, Inigo, Beth, and Max – came together for a truly fabulous concert at Kirkcudbright Parish Church. The evening was full of uplifting music and community spirit, all in support of KBT Swimming Pool, raising funds to help provide equipment for children.We’re absolutely delighted to share that the event raised a fantastic £1,040!
