School Workshops

Practical and engaging music workshops that build children’s skills in beat and rhythm, making music fun and accessible for everyone.

Through bucket drumming, chair drumming, body percussion, singing and tuned percussion, these workshops give children a fun and accessible way to explore music. Each 45-minute session is practical and hands-on, helping students develop their sense of beat and rhythm while also building confidence and teamwork. Schools can choose to finish with an informal performance, giving children the chance to share their learning.

Workshop Options

Each workshop runs for 45–60 minutes and can be booked as a block of 3 -4 weekly sessions, or longer if preferred. Schools can choose from three engaging workshop styles – with singing and body percussion available as extras in any session.

Chair Drumming

With drumsticks and a classroom chair (or table), children learn to read and play from a simple form of notation. These sessions are high-energy, accessible for all and brilliant for teamwork. Body percussion and singing can also be included to make the experience even more engaging.

Bucket Drumming

Using buckets as drums, children explore rhythm patterns and group playing in a fun, hands-on way. These sessions build coordination, confidence, and teamwork. Body percussion and singing can also be woven in to add variety.

Tuned Percussion

Children learn to play simple tunes on tuned percussion instruments, developing their skills in reading and playing from notation. These sessions also build listening, coordination and ensemble skills. Singing and body percussion can be included to make the experience even more enjoyable.

All workshops are designed to be fun, practical, and accessible for every child. Each 45–60 minute session gives students the chance to explore rhythm, develop musical skills, and work together as a group. Workshops can be booked as a block of 3–4 sessions, or longer if your school would like to extend the programme. Singing and body percussion can be included in any workshop, and schools also have the option to finish with an informal performance, giving children the chance to share their learning.

Each workshop block can be adapted to suit your school. Sessions are interactive, inclusive, and designed to develop children’s musical skills while building teamwork and confidence.
