Bucket Drumming for age 4+
The resource is a fun and engaging way to teach children how to play and maintain a steady beat through bucket drumming.
This Music Resource Bundle includes: a 13 page Teaching Plan and PPT Resource.
As a guide, this resource delivered as part (20 mins) of a weekly music lesson and followed up with 2 x 10 min lessons during the week, could take 6 – 8 weeks to be ready for a performance.

- This teaching guide has very detailed steps in how to teach playing (maintaining) a steady beat through Body Percussion which leads on to how to play a variety of sounds through bucket drumming whilst keeping a steady beat.
- The track used for a performance of this activity which has been recorded as a ‘Play Along’ is the well known song ‘The Wellerman’
- There are links in the Teaching Guide to a video demonstration of the Bucket Drumming activity and to the Play Along video. The ‘Play Along’ video will help support learners in playing and following the beat patterns as each bar is highlighted.
- 2. PowerPoint Resource: are the PPT slides which are used in the recorded ‘Play Along’.
- A super resource to have to help support learners in practising the different beat patterns.
